This world has nothing to offer
to fill your longing soul-
Its pleasures are empty and hollow
Sin and death are its goal.
This world has nothing to offer
when sorrow has entered your gate –
No faith in a life immortal,
No promise of a heavenly state.
This world has nothing to offer
in times of distress and despair –
No courage to face life’s battles,
no strength to carry your care.
This world has nothing to offer
when sin has ruined your life –
No hope for a full salvation,
no victory o’er sin and strife.
This world has nothing to offer
even when all seems bright –
And our life is a gay round of pleasure,
remember – there cometh the night.
This world has nothing to offer
when you come to the end of the road –
no light to brighten the valley,
no hope of a happy abode.
Our Saviour has all to offer –
He can fill your longing soul,
His balm can heal your heartache
and make your broken life whole.
His strength can fill your with courage
when facing life’s battles afraid,
His blood can cleanse your sin-stains,
on the cross He your ransom has paid.
Our Saviour has all to offer –
His will is our joy and delight,
in His presence are pleasures forever,
the pathway to heaven is bright.
So why will you not take our Saviour
and leave this old world behind?
You see how vain are its offerings,
But in Christ Jesus your all you will find.
